Personal Online Database (POD) is a powerful cgi script that lets you easily create and manage an online database of almost any kind --- be it a complicated product catalogue, an online library book list, an idea-exchange center, or a simple yet highly customized addressbook or guestbook. As its name implies, POD is most suitable for personal usage, yet small businesses may find it a viable alternative to expensive commercial databases depending on the business requirements. There is absolutely no programming knowledge required to use this software. Through learning a small set of special tags, you will be able to completely control the layout of the database program output with ease. POD supports the usual database operations (add, change, delete, search, sort, etc.) as well as the online dministration of the database. POD contains two programs, fldb.exe which is the main database script that lets users access DB entry information, while another program, fldbconf.exe is specifically used for configuration of POD DBs. In this documentation when POD is mentioned, it is usually referring to fldb.exe; fldbconf.exe is used for Administration of POD.
